Jan Nouwen, Senior Vice President Isocyanates & Precursors Europe of BASF, was voted in as the new Chair of the Euro Chlor Management Committee at the Euro Chlor General Assembly in Brussels, Belgium, on 11 September 2025. Mr. Nouwen will hold the position for the next two years. Jan joined BASF in 1997 after obtaining his PhD in Chemistry from KU Leuven. He has held various management roles in BASF in business management, technology and operations located in Europe, South Korea, and China and is now leading BASF’s Isocyanates and Precursors business in Europe. During the Euro Chlor General Assembly, Jan praised the work of outgoing Chair Daniel Koch of Covestro, from whom he is taking over the baton as Chairman.
